He has a job that he (mostly) loves and a (small) handful of good friends, and at 24 he is pretty content with his life… until he nearly crashes into a boy with wild curls and cratered dimples, he begins to think maybe he’s been missing something he never knew was missing. That missing piece is apparently big enough for two.

Niall bats it away easily, still laughing. “Stop!” “What did you get me, then?!” Niall must hear the tinge of hysteria in his voice, because he’s pulling himself together, trying to stop himself from laughing. There’s still a big grin on his face, though, when he says, “I got you a professional cuddler.” A professional…what. “What?”

Harry Styles is the 22 year old counsellor in training who meets Louis on a camp for young boys with mental health issues and takes up the challenge of getting him to open up. Louis is beautiful and haunting in his near constant silence and Harry wants to crack the code. But the closer he gets, the more his own heart cracks, opening up to let a fiery blue eyed boy seep inside without warning. The more Louis shares, consciously or not, the more Harry wants. But Louis’ wrestling with demons Harry can’t fathom and Harry is fighting against the pull of his own emotions. In the end, it might just come down to a test of wills and two hearts grazing against each other, trying to discover if they fit.

To be honest, weird things had happened to the band. Like that time that they found Niall asleep in a women’s bathroom at Nando’s, and that time that Louis woke up in an airport after falling asleep in Zayn’s bathtub. But this was by far the weirdest thing any of them had encountered. (It’s like- you’d be pretty freaked out too if a nine year old girl told you that you were her dad and she was from the future.)

The fact that this little bitch has been sitting in my drafts for 10 months is quite frankly, nothing short of criminal.

There weren't a lot of my own words that happened in January (however, looking back, it was probably my most prolific month of the year. which is honestly devastating to think about.) I know I put in some time on the dramione MCD fic (switched it to first person POV for maximum pain). October 2023 Wrap Up

We did it, Joe. We finally fucking caught up. I know I'm being ridiculous and these monthly wrap up posts don't really matter to anyone but me, but I actually could not proceed without doing them. Could not dive into my waiting pile of fanfic without coming back to do these. It's been weighing on me all fucking year and now, with two months left, I am finally at peace. Thank fuck, because this has taken me a truly ungodly amount of hours. Like over a full day of work. And I'm feeling a bit like a feral racoon, if I'm being honest.

December Wrap Up

What the fuck, how is the year over? I'm finally home after an extended visit with family over the holidays on account of the whole blizzard thing - a whopping 13(?) days of sleeping on the couch and eating Christmas candy and not knowing what day it was - and now you're trying to tell me that it's 2023?? In this economy??

Additionally, I was lucky enough to lend my voice to a podfic project. Over 20 voices came together to bring All I Want For Christmas (Is For You To Stop Talking) to life, with a chapter released each day leading up to Christmas. Things I'm Currently Reading (Heading into 2023)

Well, shoot. I made a whole little list for myself in my notebook. Titled it "To Read Before End of Year" and everything. And yet (and yet, and yet).

So I guess heading into 2023, I have 9 WIPs I'm following that I need to catch up on. I started both Chosen by 5moreminutes and Disappearances by @batmansymbol this year (one as part of a group read and the other listening along to live recordings). Life happened and I never finished either, so they are top of my list for 2023. We had also started Contradictions as a group read before life rudely got in the way there, too. Never fear, @ambpersand my love, my horny deranged screams are coming for you this year!!

August Wrap Up

I have officially been doing these monthly wrap up posts for a year now. How surreal is that?

This was sort of a wild month for me. I ended up taking the first two weeks of August off of work, with all these grand plans to catch up on hobbies and do home projects and read to my heart's content and write fic and dive back into astrology again and visit family and...and..and. What actually happened was that I went to Home Depot eight fucking days in a row and painted exactly two rooms of my house, in between doing a whole lot of nothing before I traveled to my hometown to celebrate another rotation around the sun.

Things I'm Currently Reading (Heading into July)

Now that we've finished our group read of DMATMOOBIL, the group read crew over in the RoR have started in on Love and Other Historical Accidents by @pacific-rimbaud. I'm five chapters in and having the goddamn time of my life. I've got a couple other WIPs I need to catch up on, and another couple that I'd like to start. Also telling myself I need to cross off at least two more things from my TBR list this month.
