Ok this is kind of a vent post but I also feel like an open discussion is definitely needed on everything going on with kpop stans right now. So I want to preface this by saying by this is isn’t necessarily gear to a specific artist or fandom but I will be using certain artists and fandoms as examples of absolutely insane behavior I have seen recently.

1. The insane amount of online bullying because you don’t like something a fan or artist has done. While this isn’t a new and has pushed both fans and idols to their limits. May their souls rest in peace. When are we gonna admit if it wasn’t engenes it was bound to be about her fandom in the near future. Every groups I stan or casual listen fans have repeatedly bullied and harassed both their favs, other artist or other fans to extreme limits. All it takes is one bad moment for someone to be pushed to that limit and it is not something that you can take back after ot happened, there is no apologies that can fix it once it is done.

2. This bg vs. gg Stan bullshit. Now I say this as some who listens to a pretty even split but has been to more bg concerts. Both sides have a major misogyny issue they just manifest in different ways. With boy groups stans it’s a double standard. Their favs can literally get away anything but the minute a girl does it all hell breaks loose. For gg stans it’s just out right entitled mean girl behavior. And for both sides it’s jealousy but again in a different way. With bg it’s very if I can’t have him no one can so yall bully pretty fans or and yall absolute attack women that a male idol interacts with. With gg stans everything’s a competition another group can’t do better or be seen as prettier. Also the way both sides are attacking tuide is concerning.

3. The critique vs bullying debate. Now this is where I might struggle to explain myself so I apologize in advance. Now because of the previous point I completely understand people being defensive of their favs. However someone pointing out inconsistency and a clear decline isn’t necessarily bullying if it is coming from both an observation and is not ill-willed. I think the best examples of this is how people critique Jennie’s most recent performances vs how people dog pilled onto ahyeon. While there was definitely people who were bullying Jennie a lot of people were just no longer impressed by her performances because she would have a great performance but the night after it would fall flat. While with ahyeon 95% of it was just attacking.

4. Yall say yall want idols to speak their minds but when they do yall hate them. Now I will be using enhypen for this because I can. Now I understand why people want specifically Riki to speak up on everything going on but let’s be honest when this year when they have spoken up about anything have people listened. And this isn’t just an enhypen issue, Chan has said something and I vividly remember stays not listening. Twice and BP have been seen together multiple times in the past and yall still compare them. Yall don’t respect your so called favs enough to listen to anything they say.

5. Lastly and the shortest because I already made several post about this. The main character syndrome is just sad and embarrassing.
