Ouma hears Shuichi slapping the door, but he just looked at the box with the blue wrapper, and sat on the ground. ' It's nothing, really... you don't have to worry about a silly thing. ' He mumbled before softly pushing the gift away, making a bit of noise as it hit the wall. ' I'm just... gonna clean up the bathroom. ' He announced, though, Kokichi forgot there was a spare key to the bathroom somewhere in the room... dammit, he should have grabbed and hid that.

“N-No, wait, I...” In his midst of panic, he forgot there was a spare key. It didn’t seem like Kokichi was going to let him in, and he didn’t want this night especially to leave his boyfriend upset, so Shuichi quickly scurries to find the key. It takes a minute, but remembers it’s kept in one of the drawer shelves.

He grabs the key and unlocks the door, walking towards to him. “N-No, wait, please. I’m sorry, I was being really insensitive. May I still see it, please...? I upset you already, I don’t want this night for you to be entirely ruined, so...!”

Happy birthday, my beloved @ficsotou!

When the early morning light streamed past the curtains, illuminating the bedroom, it appeared as if it were any other typical day. Shuuichi woke up to the familiar weight of a certain someone nestled in his grasp, sound asleep for the time being--but, if following the same routine, would rouse shortly after the detective.  

For a little while longer, Shuuichi would twirl those purple-tipped locks around his fingers, relishing in the soft texture as his mind absentmindedly noted how his boyfriend’s breathing was increasing in pace. So until those violet hues blinked open, he would stroke Ouma’s hair, and once the other was conscious, Shuuichi leaned over to plant a kiss to his forehead.

"Happy Birthday, Ouma-kun!" Kaede approached the birthday boy and handed him, with a slight blush on her face, a fancy wrapped box. "Since we're trapped in here and the monomono-machine didn't give me something suitable for you as a present either, I asked Toujou-san to help me bake a birthday cake for you. You do like sweets after all, right? If you want to, you can try it! It maybe doesn't taste as good as hers, since my hands are more suitable to play the piano keys instead of doing anything inside the kitchen, really... but I wanted to give you something I made myself!” Hopefully he wouldn’t be too disappointed by this turn of events. At least the cake turned out way better than her valentine’s chocolates for him earlier this year... 

After handing him his present over, she gave him a little peck on his forhead before smiling brightly at him. “Happy birthday again! I’m really thankful for today, you know? It’s important to celebrate your existence! And I hope we’ll be able to celebrate many more birthdays together in future too!”  “If you want to, we can go to my lab later! I want to play some songs for you later too, okay? Let’s have a lot of fun today!”
