There is one specific thing in fiction that will guarantee an emotional response from me and that is the importance of cherished objects. Like, somebody burying a child with their toys, or leaving journals behind because you need to run and can’t go back, or that one pen that you like and feel unreasonably sad when you lose it, or old notes/diaries/photos/trinkets, passed down and buried in attics. I don’t know why these things are guaranteed to give me an emotion, I guess it’s a mix of recognizing that another person feels and has needs and wants, and the whole reflection thing. I don’t know

the best thing in fiction : when english speakers try to write some sentences in french & it's usually the soppy-sappy romantic-y ones & then they use "vous" which is SOOOOO cute and endearing but guys it's so formal... like, teacher/person of importance-level of formal... if you wanna talk to friends & lovers, "tu" is more appropriate... just saying... <3 <3 <3
