Scenario where Toshinori has a crush on the reader but is too insecure to confront/confess to them so he starts hitting on them as all Might (and they are totally weirded out by AM but have a crush on Toshinori)
sure thing :3! -mod cass
Toshinori, a man of technique and smarts, knows how to use his All Might form wisely.
He uses it when there’s a villian, menacing and looming over the poor residents of the smoldering cities. He uses it when he presents himself to his underlings, the heroes in training who idolize his every move, who work their hardest for pride and recognition.
And, he uses it when he spots a certain someone crossing a ‘busy’ street.
Even from the top of buildings Toshinori’s eyes always finds their way to you. Whether you be strolling through the neighborhood, relaxing on your patio, or chatting with your friendly neighbors, he always found himself drawn towards you and your daily habits. Now that he thinks about it, he feels a bit stalkerish.
Once more he spots your figure standing at the curb of a main road, eyes scanning over the sea of cars rushing past you. For a moment. he debates leaving you to it, opting to instead watch from a distant and learn little things about you. He wants to walk you across the road and assure your safety, and he wants to converse with you about your day. He also really wants to hold your hand, but then he peeks down at his fingers- long and scarred from fights- and remembers that he, in this form, would not match you. Surely you’d mistake him a villain, or some sort of creep.
You’ve caught glimpses of each other here and there, always in the corners of eyes. Once you smiled and waved at him and poor Toshinori stood there, eyes fixated on you, unsure of what to do until you slowly let your hand fall as you nodded awkwardly and walked away.
Toshinori sighs and lets his head fall, eyes leaving you. He groans to himself and curses his injuries for not letting him remain All Might forever- a form that surely would win you over in a heartbeat. He’d scoop you up his big arms and take you the highest building, watch the sunset with you in his arms.
Despite being alone, he feels his face heat, the form of you almost tangliable against him. He can hear the birds cooing, the cities noises drowned out by the wind breezing through your hair.
Then, he opens his eyes again. He sighs and takes a glance down towards the street- and then his heart stops. You take your foot off the curb, ready to step onto the street, but in the distance he can see a car cruising down straight for you. Though the light is red, the pedestrian icon signaling your walk, he can’t stop himself from jumping into action.
You didn’t even know what hit you.
One minute you’re minding your own business, trying to reach your destination, and the next the sun goes dark. You feel a looming presence behind you, watching you, eyes burning holes into the back of your head. When you turn the sheer mass of the being forces you to look up, where you meet the wide, sinister smile.
You’re scooped up by two powerful arms, where you find yourself locked as the person, or thing, launches off the road and bounds for the other end of the cross walk. In one swift, dramatic leap, you’re at your destination. As you’re lowered to the ground, you realize you didn’t even have a moment to understand entirely what was going on. The moment your feet touch the ground you almost collapse, legs shaking. A large hand catches you under the arm and hoists you up gently, almost tenderly.
“Fear not,” A voice booms so loud that you physically cringe. “I’ve protected you!”
Immediately, you duck your head down as you peek back up. Now it all makes sense.
“All Might.” You breathe, eyes shutting in tension. “That scared me.”
“No need to be afraid! I am here for you!”
This is the not the first time All Might have ‘saved’ you. Rather it be from a ‘dangerous’ crack in the side walk or the possibility of a plant falling out from a window and landing on your hand, All Might seems to find ways to sneak himself into your daily life. Though you appreciate the gestures, the stress of not even understanding what the danger was is a bit… Taxing.
“Uh-” You glance around and notice all the eyes towards you, some in awe, others in shock. Quickly you put your head down, rubbing the back of your neck. “Thanks.”
“It’s no problem at all!” He beams. “How can I further assist you-” He seems to falter before almost forcing out the word, “Citizen?”
“Actually, you know, I’m alright…”
“Don’t be so shy! I’m here to help!”
“I really don’t need any help with anything right now, but thank y-”
“Surely there must be something I can do for you!”
You don’t look at up at him when you bite at your inner cheek. He’s really not going to go away, is he?
“I guess if you really want to help,” You start, thinking rapidly. Something clicks in your mind, and you feel a smile creep on your lips. “Would you be able to point me to the closest gift shop?”
Though you and he had never spoken, that man you saw occasionally, his birthday was coming up (or so you heard from that small green haired boy). He seemed a bit emotionally unavailable, frozen in time every time you interacted, but you sensed something warm about him. Surely if you got him a gift on the special day he’d have to talk to you. Maybe this would be your chance to get to know him.
You know full well where it is, but you assume asking All Might for help will send him on his way. He seems to bite, almost radiating happiness when he puts a hand up to his forehead and dramatically scouts. Then, he points straight down the road. “Right that way, m’am!”
You bow quickly and smile as genunely as you can muster. “Thank you so much!”
“What’s the occassion?” He suddenly asks, and you falter.
“Oh- Just… Just a birthday.”
“Oh?” He seems interested now, and you partly wish you hadn’t opened your mouth. When he leans down and places one hand against his cheek to shield his lips, he whispers, “Who’s the lucky fellow?”
Though All Might makes you nervous, you feel yourself blush at telling him about the man you wished to speak with. You once more rub the back of your neck, giggling. “He’s um… He’s just this guy that I’ve been seeing around. We haven’t really talked and I heard his birthday was coming up so I thought…”
“A gift! What a great idea!” He places his hands on his waist and laughs heartily. But you notice something strange in the way he talks. It almost sounds like… Disappointment? Despite this, he carries on. “Tell me, when’s the special occasion?”
“June tenth.” You almost add ‘sir’ onto the end, as if he’s some sort of commanding officer.
All Might nods thoughtfully but for some reason you feel like he didn’t really process what you were saying. Once more he laughs and then straightens his back, dwarfing you once more.
“Well, good luck to you,” He pauses strangely. “Citizen!”
Then, he’s gone, leaving you in literal dust.
As Toshinori leaps from building to building, his side aches something horrible. He wished he didn’t have to leave so quickly, but he knew that his time was running out, and he couldn’t risk you seeing his true form. You’d run for the hills, hide under logs, surely do anything to escape him.
Once he finds a nice secluded spot, he regresses into his true form. He spits blood and catches it in his thin fingers, the rest spattering onto the concrete roof top. He can still see you, and just as you had said, you made your way towards the gift shop. He feels pride swell in his chest knowing he could assist you yet again, to make your life just a bit easier. He nods and ignores the burning on his wounds and calls the day a success.
It isn’t until he’s home, wrapping his wound and debating a hospital visit, when he takes a glance at his calendar. He never uses it, just fills out dates and then forgets to keep up for the rest of the month. But, one little doodle catches his eye.
June 10th, a drawing of a party hat with a cake. Ah, that’s right, his birthday is closeby.
He stands idly, staring at that little drawing, cobwebbed gears starting to grind in his brain.
What was it you had said? About the man you rarely interacted with, but saw from time to time? The lucky fellow you had your sights after?
He touches at his chin, thinking. Then, like a brick through a window, he jumps. Your voice echoes in his head.
‘June tenth.’
