It’s honestly not as interesting as you might think. And I don’t think it directly affects Kalafina in any way. But I feel like it doesn’t reflect well on Yuki Kajiura but that’s just my impression.
I purposefully kept it vague in my other post because for one, I feel like most people keep track of Yuki’s activities anyway so there’s no need to discuss them here and also, I didn’t wanna waste too much time writing myself into a frenzy.
Basically it’s about two things for me. First, after “Mune no Yukue”, Yuki has once again chosen a Kalafina song for her Christmas event that means a lot to Keiko, namely “Alleluia”. Of course she can include her own music as much as she wants but her picking these specific songs gives off a weird vibe. Still not sure what’s behind that and maybe I am reading too much into it but meh, it doesn’t sit right with me. This is of course coming from someone with a strong Kalafina-bias so others might feel differently about the whole thing…While I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt during her tour (thought that Yuki might be paying tribute to the ones who can’t be there), I am slowly starting to feel like her intentions are maybe not all that noble…
The second thing is Yuuka’s seemingly miraculous “comeback”. She has appeared together with Yuki Kajiura at one or two events before but they haven’t properly interacted or worked closely together ever since that whole feud between Space Craft and Team Yuki first started. I was always under the impression that Yuuka’s connection to Space Craft was making it difficult for her to directly work with Yuki again but either that was never really the case or circumstances have changed considerably (maybe due to the restructuring happening at Space Craft). To suddenly have her as a fixture in all these lives is quite baffling to me. Mind you, Yuuka is STILL managed by Space Craft (unlike Wakana whose management was transferred to a proxy - MerciMerci). And Space Craft is bragging about it on social media as if all the beef between Yuki and them is a thing of the past…It’s just weird…And the timing is off…
Seven years of this nasty feud where Team Yuki and Space Craft couldn’t find a common ground and make peace in order to bring back Kalafina. The girls have taken things into their own hands because clearly, no one else was putting any effort into it and as we all know, they have been severely punished and shunned for following their dreams. Now it is suddenly so easy for Team Yuki and Space Craft to find ways to collaborate again…Sorry, that just rubs me the wrong way…Make of that whatever you will, I personally don’t like this development…
