🎶SUNDAY’S (OCTOBER 28) PLAYLIST INCLUDES TODOS TUS MUERTOS🎶 From 1976 to 1983, Argentina’s military regime created an olla exprés of protest sounds contained and quashed by the brutal dictatorship. But that anarchic exuberance reverberated in post junta music like the ska-punk band Todos Tus Muertos (All Your Dead) formed two years after democratic restoration and whose name refers to the tens of thousands who disappeared during Argentina’s Dirty War. Guitarist Horacio Gamexane fought in the Falkland War and lead vocalist Fidel Nadal is an Afro-Argentine Rastafarian, so the group had plenty of radical angst to draw from. . Todos Tus Muertos’ 1994 breakout album Dale Aboriginal included contributions from Manu Chao, Fermin Muguruz, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs - not just as “guest artists” but true collaborators in the creative process. You can clearly hear the demotic energy brought from Manu Chao’s band Mano Negra and the distinctive flow between eclectic styles that Chao took for his own seminal solo album “Clandestino” released four years later. You may have never heard their music, but you have certainly heard Todos Tus Muertos influence on American bands such as Fishbone, Rancid, and No Doubt. . @vezVida #sunnysideWA #musicdiscovery $5 off CDs 💿 featured in today’s and yesterday’s playlist 🎵 . . @todostusmuertos_oficial #HoracioGamexane #FidelNadal #skapunk #rastapunk #latinpunk #musicaargentina #músicamestiza #latinmusic #manuchao #RadioBembaSoundSystem #ferminmuguruza #LosFabulososCadillacs #nodoubt#rancid#fishbone #todostusmuertos #ollaexprés 🇦🇷 🇦🇷 🇦🇷🇦🇷 (at Sunnyside Downtown) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpduPyngzu0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1pzlncpnokstx
