first, go where you are curious. this is a meditation. this is love. love needs curiosity and wonder. go where you wonder. have your mixer.
make sure all switches are off or neutral and all volume knobs are set to zero. this is hygiene. in love, we do our best to come clean.
connect any microphones, and set any switches you might need to eventually power them. think of this as intention setting. you must know what you mean to do.
now: connect your monitor. headphones, speakers, whatever they are. these will both separate you from the world as you know it and connect you to the world through your instrument.
breathe. power on your mixer. breathe. turn up the gain or faders on your microphone till you can see the presence on your meter. breathe. slowly turn up your monitor volume, until you hear what you wondered about. breathe. be curious. be in love.
pass your monitors to who you want to share your love with. turn the monitor volume to zero, and turn control over to them. this is love.
