DNA Splicing | | Scout+Jayden

Had it been weeks, or months was it years now? They stripped her of her name, her innocence, her humanity. Any sign of who she was or who she might of been was gone; the body modification, the scars… Her name was now Subject 135. Another test subject in terms of splicing DNA. The changes had been painful, and it was a slow process. First they gave her an fully operational animal heart, her eyes began to change as well— turn more reptilian. Her teeth grew sharper, and her reflexes grew each day. While she may have been stronger, she would’ve given anything for her life back. Her skin now glistened in the light, large patches of pastel scales shimmered as if they were crystals themselves. Her eyes changed from the dark brown they usually were to a bright almost iridescent blue, with a serpentine slice of pupil— giving her… Advantages against her opponents, particularly at night. Her hair would have been white— if it wasn’t shaved and the skin untouched by the sun had turned more of a light grayish. Her nails more like talons, and to think they had made her believe it was to fix her heart. The thing she missed most though was her best friend and her lover, and the naked subject, curled up in her cage looked at him in bewilderment. “Jayden…?” Her voice was cracked, hollow— her eyes much larger than they were before. “You’ll get killed, you need to leave.” She whispered, her mouth incredibly dry all of the sudden. “How did you find me?”

Jayden didn't know when he began searching for her, the memories of it seeming so fleeting then. He knew for sure that when they didn't hear from her, something was wrong. How the 'hospital' wouldn't answer, let alone return any calls. It was then he knew that if anyone was going to find her, it had to be him. The blond was beginning to lose hope of ever finding her until.. His feet his the ground softer than he had anticipated and the sight of her made his stomach churn. This wasn't Scout anymore. Not the woman who was like his younger sister, not the woman who had all of her modifications, and it seemed like these people stripped her of her very being. His coat slipped off of his shoulders and soon wrapped around her frame, pierced lips pressing to her forehead. The male wasn't one to lie and if he had to be truthful -- she looked monstrous. Still cute, but.. Monstrous. "Scout.. Shush. They can try to kill me all they want, but I'm not leaving without you. That's a promise." He said in a hushed tone, looking over his shoulder. "I'm a hit man.. I have my ways.. Come on, We need to get you out of here.. We need to go back into that vent. Get on my shoulders and I'll lift you up."

Fuck yeah, Josephine and Skye! Now… Where do I even begin?The two of them fulfill the others needs that the boys don’t quite and they can pass for siblings, often acting like it. Both are relatively quiet and tend to love things creepy (not to the full extent that Jo does). Their flaws stem from how they see themselves. Both have horrible self-esteem and quite honestly, Skye wishes she were gorgeous like Josephine while she does with Skye. They cannot fathom why anyone would bother with them.UGH. I’m sorry this sucks. I know these characters SO WELL yet I cannot find more to put here. THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. I need to think. I am ashamed >:|
