They were friends now. On some level, right? After their normal lesson they had both agreed to believe as such. Conversing from time to time. Fighting in various battles. And over the few weeks they’d been traveling, Tharja had grown a slight attachment to the princess. Nothing as serious as her desire for Robin or Chrom. 

Perhaps just something along the lines of admiration? Princess Hinoka was a tough nut to crack. Rather pleasing on the eye too. Nothing should dare mar that appearance and strong demeanor. 

Thus why Tharja had crafted a rather hefty protection charm. Still holding it out for the other to take.

Fliers: Hinoka vs Subaki

“Oh, such a gentleman. It seems that Sir Subaki has bowed and concedes the course to Princess Hinoka first. I suppose that must be appropriate, since he is a royal retainer.”

“Quite the gentleman as well... Though Hinoka seems like the kind of woman who’d rather get along with Sully than act like a lady. Oh, er, no offense intended.”

HINOKA:

First obstacle: Hoops ; 3pts

Second obstacle: Avoid launched clay birds ; 4pts

Hinoka makes a bold move and STANDS UP on her saddle in mid-air. The audience cheers and shouts in excitement as she whistles a signal to her mount and jumps up, catching one of the clay birds in mid-air! The audience ROARS in applause as Hinoka lands back on her steed’s back with a triumphant shout.

Third obstacle: Flagpoles ; 1pt

Fourth obstacle: Aerial loop ; 2pts

Fifth obstacle: Aerial dive & landing ; 1pt

Total score: 2.2pt average

“She is a fierce one. I think Princess Hinoka could give Lady Sully a run for her money. They both have that gung-ho kind of attitude.”

“Gods, that was brave. I’d never dare get on a pegasus alone; who has the guts to stand up on one of those thing?!”

SUBAKI:

Third obstacle: Flagpoles ; MISS

As Subaki weaves through the flagpoles, the wind shifts and it is actually the dark flag of Nohr that whips around to smack him in the face, temporarily blinding him and bungling the strafe maneuver Tsubaki had planned. Embarrassed, he continues on to finish the course.

Fourth obstacle: Aerial loop ; 1pt

Fifth obstacle: Aerial dive & landing ; 3pts

Total score: 1.8pt average
