Fire Rebuked
The long locks of blond hair fell to the floor as the scissors weaved through them. A sound of metal grinding against metal reverberated throughout the room. The man, whom had been cutting his own hair, stared at himself listlessly and paid close attention to the angle and the strands he cut.
There wasn't too much hair. In fact, it was mainly just his bangs and a small portion that trailed down the small of his back. It was just that he mandated that his hair be between his shoulderblades and above the small of his back. This was the minimum and maximum; there was no inbetween.
The silence, other than the scissors cutting hair, was interrupted by the sound of a door closing behind him. Zidane could feel his lips lining into a lopsided smile as he turned to face what he assumed to be his love.
He wasn't wrong. He just wasn't happy when he saw what was to come.
Garnet, no, Dagger collapsed on her knees, fingers curling against the stone floor. Each fingernail that scraped against the floor left small, linear, white blemishes as the darkness started to take over. Zidane would have reached out; he would have tried to hold her, but he was too late. From the abyss' cavern, dark tendrils enveloped the petite girl and dragged her under. Soon, the gaping maw of a dark monstrosity emerged. Tangible, but elastic. Ethereal, yet humanoid.
It was only when Zidane could describe the monster that he was forced out of the window due to an explosion from within. From the fire that lingered, dark beasts marched forward with darkness backing its way.
