Warm Welcome || @fighterinwhite
There had been some gossiping going around the past few days. Word about a new resident moving in was the hot topic of the week at the apartment complex, or at least in N's opinion it was. He'd probably know more if he actually made an effort to converse with his neighbors in the building. It wasn't like N didn't want to socialize with the others--thought it might have been part of the reason. It was just that...he didn't really have much to say to them; and before he knew it, a rift had formed between him and the nosy and always gossiping clique (which consisted mostly of stay at home mothers who had nothing better to do). Even if N could strike up a conversation with them, social matters weren't exactly his specialty anyways. With N being seemingly distant, when in reality he was just avoiding any uncomfortable social situations, the other residents labeled him the "Mysterious Lone Wolf of Apartment 314". N had overheard them use that term many times, and had come to realize that it was him they were talking about. Not that he said anything to the others regarding the nickname, of course.
Fast forward to the present day. N had just gotten off work from the animal shelter and was walking home when he noticed a moving truck in front of the building. He briefly thought to himself that the new person was probably already there and was getting settled. On his way up the stairs to his room...a sudden thought came to him.
What if...what if N went out of his way to say hi to the new resident? After all, most of the others were out doing their daily chores and shopping, so he was currently the only one at least on that floor. Why not welcome the stranger? After all, it'd be a fresh start! He could try and make a good first impression with them, or at least, as good of a first impression that someone like N could make.
Before he knew it, he was already on his floor, and the no longer vacant room across from his had its door slightly ajar. Alright N, moment of truth. To knock or not to knock.
"...Hello? " Oh, too late. His mouth acted faster than his hand, which was still hesitating to knock. Well then, it was all or nothing now. Clearing his throat, N finally got himself to knock firmly on the door.
" Ahem. I...I do believe that you are the new resident that we have been expecting? If possible, I would like to introduce myself."
Alright, so far, so good. Now if N didn't say anything too weird or make it too obvious that he had the social skills of a rock, then this might actually go smoothly.
