thank you for your video, I've been advised this printer on Facebook of all places, which is how I know about it. the benchy looks like a non-calibrated heat, flow, and pressure advance. which, is upsetting, that sounds like defaults got close. does it have a load cell for the calibration? or is it something else? no scanning on calibration means it's back to manual. something else that bugs me is the lack of the rear 2 corners of the plate not having support bearings, that causes flex for larger prints at higher temps. together with, especially at this price point, you need to reprap seals for the cover, it very much would have been far simpler to just increase the size of the top to go over the part there. the hepa needs to be for intake to reduce dust particles reducing layer adhesion & the recirculation effect is a big one & is basically a new standard for this price point. Some tubes with holes for the top cover would then have a piece that extends down to cover that intake then have it go underneath to have the hot air blow up into the heater.
Yes, the heater, if its big enough with enough watt output, should I guess be fine with heating everything, but the amount of volatiles that leak out & hang in the air is still bad. Heated chambers for engineering filaments means much worse volatiles. Truthfully, non of them are good & more people are using these in apartments because, yeah that's what they can afford. Getting a grow tent for a pla fdm printer for long term health is absurd when its enclosed. But now, its looking like that is indeed what you have to always do.
Why is the heater that far back? its not evenly heating the chamber, the front panel has the most leakage for the total amount of heat differential in the chamber outside of the top & leak sections for air, which reduce the ability for higher temp prints to succeed. Making you need to print consistently only in those areas & only those sizes at best. This looks like a company that said the community would say "just get good" & stop whinging & whine-ing.
Knowing that a terrible 3d printing community, like r/3dprinting, would come to their "rescue" saying that its a lot for what it is when they make a large amount & get large amounts of parts for cheap, some of these are stupidly easy to make & buy 10K plus where they make it. Their profit is still quite high, even after accounting for employees & shipping (shipping being the largest cost on average for USA warehouse stored devices, even though they are also one of the biggest customers of these) & it looks like many of them expect no need for quality control checks of every unit.
That top cover/lid is looking harsh, dude, like harsh. Those gaps would be considered tesla quality. Like old ford & chevy quality. Bad. Bad enough to ruin things. As in for me, I'd need to print, but most likely just get card board & tape & put on the filters needed to cover them (heehehehehe) because dude, not worth it. Even a pps/pet print for that heater to shove air down & throughout the bottom is too dang much money. So cardboard & high temp tape is good enough for me dude. So I poked holes, yeah and?
Same for needing to get out some $20 big roll for glass top stoves of high temp silicone mat that I can drill into & just squish into the door to prevent it from leaking. Then a intake hepa isn't the hardest either to do, but all of that at this price point is easy as all get out. Why do I need to reprap up a literal fix for everything on this printer!? No load cell for the printhead/toolhead? why?
sidenote, printhead is what they are to me unless they change their tools. In cnc toolheads change bits, making them a tool that changes. Why isn't it called a multi-printhead or something like that? anyways.
Wanting to not have to do all of that is normal. that is a lot of time investment & more, so its just not a good thing to require your customers to do this.
The recirculation only needs a rotating knob like any other duct that is like a throttle body to fix it. Why?! Why didn't they just do that? Like its easy to have it block the exhaust area & then open up the air flow into either to heater to go towards the bottom or just the bottom area. What is this level of bad design!?
Man I wish I was rich & had the ability to suddenly live in ultra cheap China for mass production prototyping to be able to bring things to market like them, or other rich people that own 3d printer companies & youtube channels out there trying & making tools & more.
