A late night question about homework - that was what had pulled Uraraka from her dorm room and sent her shuffling down the halls to Aizawa’s own. He was the only teacher she was almost certain was up, after all. The last thing she wanted to do was wake someone.
No one around here got enough sleep, these days.
A soft knock and she pushed the door open, but the question that had been on the tip of her tongue, was lost immediately, when her eyes fell on the scene before her.
‘Cat sweaters… How cute!!’
Her eyes lit up at the sight, excitement and joy welling in her chest, before bursting out in a soft-
“Can I help?”
Oh come on Aizawa, it’s exactly what it looks like.
nooooooo. nooooooo. this is the worst day of his life. he cannot believe that a student caught him in the middle of this -- knitting and sewing together little sweaters for his stray cats. it’s what he does to relieve stress. plus, he likes taking care of them. he’s always loved cats; he’s never been able to explain the connection he feels to them, but they’re selective with who they life and only open up to people they trust unconditionally -- and maybe that’s it.
oh god, he’s emotionally similar to a cat.
at least uraraka seems. . . excited, rather than amused? wait. did she just ask to help him? he opens his mouth, still holding the bright pink sweater in his hands (they’re all brightly colored, unlike aizawa’s own wardrobe). “you. . . want to help?” well. it’s better than her running off and telling everyone. he clears his throat and tries to get some of his pride back. “ -- only if you PROMISE to keep it a secret.” he might die of humiliation if his students knew and teased him about it. honestly, it’s the last thing he needs.
