Fronting this year’s FJFW, Pandanah is probably the show’s breath of fresh air. A cross-cultural collection between Aboriginal and Hawaiian cultures, it delineates the consonance of flora in both the beautiful Pacific lands. The prints are tantamount to the gum-tree eucalyptus of the Land Down Under that ties well with the natural fibrous fabric on which they are printed - silk, linen and kangeroo leather. Staying true to indigenous roots, the duet have decided to go against the whole zip and button garment hold-togethers, and have opted with merely tie-pieces. The dominant paradigm of designs are merely two piece suits. Well held together - talk about starting with a bang!
