Waterfalls, Pipes, Jugs, and Bathing in Drops
These two recordings of waterfalls, are compared with the sounds of water running from a pipe. I am considered cutting and changing the frequencies, tempos, and timing of cut portions to create differentiation of sounds. From this, a blurring background can be created, resulting in differentiation from the electro-acoustic sounds generated from my lap harp and amp combo. This may be a bit like a remixed soundscape, of field recordings spliced into having a rhythmic and hypnotic quality, that is lengthy.
I want the feeling of the sound of water, and types of running water, and water in use to be separated and then overlapped for symbolic and sensation inducing outcomes to be explored and articulated. The differences between what is in constructed forms made by man, nature, and the purpose of water I am exploring the sound qualities, for the suggestive qualities of each.
