Hey y’all,
I was tagged by @sleepygeeky to complete this little questionnaire.
Why?
Because Tumblr doesn’t do things like this anymore, and it should. Feel free to skip it or change the questions to something else!
13 Pointless Questions
What’s something, big or small, that you wish would go on sale so you could buy it?
A four-bedroom house with a closed floorplan, especially one that isn't a large and sprawling one commonly found in Texas. A home with a cozier feel, like a Victorian-era cottage or a cabin in the woods, and possibly in a Gothic Revival style. But not many new homes are like that, so I'd really have to take whatever house has a closed floorplan.
What’s something you always keep in your refrigerator?
Filtered water. It's not just for me, but my dog won't drink any other water. Unless it's from the dog fountain at the park.
Do you have a memory that you swear happened but didn’t actually happen to you?
I don’t believe I do. I do have moments where I recall I had told someone something, but I never got around to it. I had only rehearsed it in my head, but I forgot to tell the person after constructing the "perfect" response.
Have you ever set something down and immediately lost it? Like it just ceased to exist?
Everything, but it would probably be my water bottle or one of my good flannels. Or my pens for writing and editing.
What’s the weirdest porn video you’ve ever watched? One watched not for pleasure but out of dreadful fascination?
Sounding. A mutual had mentioned he liked it. I didn’t know what it was. And it wasn’t what I expected it to be. In fact, I didn't know what to expect. He really wouldn't share much about it other than how enjoyable it was for him. It's not for me, but I'm glad he can find pleasure from it. So good on him!
What’s a common word you always misspell?
“The,” but only when I type. My fingers go a little too fast, and I make typos: “teh” or “hte.” When writing by hand, I'd have to say any word with "i” before "e" except after “c” or when it sounds like “ay” (e.g., The neighbors’ friend received some briefs) because it's an inconsistent rule (e.g., A foreign protein species in science is neither sufficient nor weird). "Protein" and "weird" are my most common misspelled mistakes.
If you could have one of the Zelda “helper” characters IRL, which one would you pick?
Epona, Link's horse. It's a good mode of transit in some respects, and, depending on where in Texas I am, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to have. And I already know how to ride horseback. I may be out of practice, but I'm sure I can figure it out again. The only obstacle I can think of is the cost to keep the horse. It's not like I can build a horse stable in the apartment's parking lot and complete all the necessary maintenance and exercises a horse needs. I surely can't be riding down the streets of Dallas on a horse now, can I?
What song is your current obsession?
Lorien Testard's “Une vie à t'aimer” from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I've never played the game, but it looks like a game I'd like to play. Or rather attempt. A mutual had recommended I listen to “Une vie à peindre.” After listening to it, this song played next in the queue. I don't know which I like more, and I'm not here to make that choice, although having one as a current song obsession surely answers the question.
What’s a word of which you just learned the meaning?
Not the most recent, but the newest word I remember I had to look up was “moot.” I had never heard of it, but another mutual had used it in our messages a year or so ago, and I didn't know what it meant.
What is the celebrity crush you can’t explain? It is what it is.
I can more or less pinpoint why I have a crush on a man, celebrities included. Henry Cavill, a little too obvious for a gay man. But it wasn’t his looks that attracted me; it was his gamer geekiness. Or Freddie Stroma, for his smile and near-nerdy appearance in “Peacemaker.” But whenever I mention one man, I get strange looks, either because they don't know him, claiming he's not a celebrity after looking him up because he's a journalist, or they think he's an unusual yet reasonable choice: Steve Kornacki. And he's gay, too, which is a plus.
Who is the mutual you’ve been mutuals with the longest?
I don't know. Two mutuals come to mind (different from the three I've already mentioned), but I don't know which one I've known the longest. I have a vague memory of the first mutuals I added on here after my last blog was terminated, but I can't narrow down which of the two came first.
What would your sci-fi and/or whimsical gang name be? (e.g., Echo, Brick, and Zoot)
Cowboy. It's a name I've gotten a lot other than Scribe (I write a lot) or Mouse (I have a more reserved nature, and it's a reference to being a “country mouse”).
What horror movie scenario are you most likely to survive?
Demonic haunting in a Victorian home. I don't know how else to explain it. Call it overconfidence, but I'm certain I can survive.
