Saraya’s life was going a million miles an hour, zooming in about twenty different directions. With everything that had been going on in her life, from her neck surgery to her explosive breakup with her now ex fiance, all Saraya wanted to do was crawl into bed, pull the covers over her body, and sleep for about eight weeks. But the raven haired woman was a fighter, it was in her blood, for fuck’s sake. So before she tucked herself in to sleep, Saraya promised herself that it was the last day of her pity party. Tomorrow would be a brand new day.
And it was. She woke up at about nine, and for the first time in ages she didn’t hit the snooze button. The Norwich native sat up and let a yawn escape, stretching. Saraya swung her pale legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, crossing the room to her closet. She selected a simple faded black crop top and some jeans, selecting a hoodie as well in case it was chilly. After changing into her clothes, Saraya quickly headed to her bathroom to wash her face and apply her makeup. She went with a lighter look today, if for nothing more than for a change of pace. Once she brushed her teeth, she quickly passed the flat iron through her hair a few times before deeming herself ready for the day.
Next on the agenda? Coffee. Saraya was going to treat herself to a special drink from the little cafe a few blocks from her condo. It was a small place, but the drinks were fucking top notch so they were always crowded. It had been a hot second since Saraya had been around that many people at one time, but she had to get herself back out there somehow. She slung her purse over her shoulder and closed the door behind her, making her way to her car and climbing inside. The Brit cranked the radio all the way up and drummed on the steering wheel as she drove. She reached the coffee shop, the Beanery, about three or so minutes later. Saraya parked her car and hopped out, grabbing her phone so she could return a text to one of her friends.
The Brit was so engrossed in her phone that she didn’t even notice when she walked right into someone, causing them to spill their freshly bought coffee. She hurriedly tucked her phone into her pocket and her hands flew up to her mouth, cheeks red with embarrassment. “Oh, oh my GOD. I am so fucking sorry! Please, let me buy you a new cup of coffee. I insist.”
