Finding The Center || Kai & Elliott

The matter of his hair was...was still questionable, to say the least. Elliott had taken to avoiding the mirrors in his house, even as it made Angela watch him too closely, and only after he realized how exhausted Chase looked and sounded every time he checked in with Elliott while running these two simultaneous restaurants did he decide that...well, ultimately, something had to change. Fears had to be faced. A balance needed to be found again.
It wasn’t about the hair. He knew that logically. He understood it. But...but it was better to put blame on that. Better to focus on it than the fears lurking deep inside of himself.
Regardless, he had to get out of the house, if only so Chase didn’t give him that look when he saw him next and had to confess that he’d worked from home every day that week again. He had to. And the beach had always been soothing.
Just after the sun had kissed the sky, Elliott found himself at the beach, shirt quietly discarded on the ground, his bare feet digging into the sand, as he slowly took himself through a form. It was a simple one, with just enough flair to get his muscles pumping. Nothing too extreme. He’d ease more into his capoiera later. For now, just the steady, building pace of orchestrated punches and kicks, until he was moving through it at full speed, sending sand flying with his foot or letting out a sharp, stilted breath when he threw a controlled punch.
By the time he finished, sweat beaded his brow, and he faced the rising sun, taking a deep breath and trying to settle the weight still stirred in his chest.
