Surrounded By Flowers [Mikoto and Shara]
“Easy. Easy, there.” Mikoto ran his hand soothingly over the elefun’s side (although, incidentally, he refused to think of the creature as anything other than a miniature elephant) as it lay uncomfortably in the field of flowers by the Privera Forest. The creature let out a pained trumpet and Mikoto frowned, continuing to speak in gentle, quiet Japanese. “My apologies for the pain. It will not be long, I promise.“ Some wayward portal had sent a swarm of giant hornets into the usually calm forest, and though Mikoto had managed to send them safely back to the Forest of Beginnings it was not before this startled monster had been stung. It had been difficult to get the monster to trust him, but now he sat at its side, working the stinger out as carefully as he could manage. There was a patch around him where the flowers had been damaged, as he’d realized they had medicinal properties and was using them to numb the pain, and he made a mental note to apologize later to the one who had planted them. Finally the stinger came out, and he breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you for your patience. Now, let’s see if we can’t find you a portal home…”
