For years, I have been dealing with chronic abdominal pain, and I was told it was associated with my food allergies, celiac, etc. At one point the doctor in the ER thought I might have had appendicitis, but that wasn't it either.
Turns out, after switching clinics and getting a new doctor, I have a diagnosis: fibroid tumors with endometriosis. An ultrasound was what it took to figure it out. An ultrasound and a doctor who listened to all the symptoms and looked at me as a person, not a fat woman with Celiac disease. There is now an end in sight, as the only true "cure" for fibroid tumors is a hysterectomy. I go in Monday for an endometrial biopsy, and I will likely have the surgery in May, so I don't miss more days of work than I have.
It is possible that six months from now I will be pain free for the first time in five years.
So after a terrible, awful, no-good, very bad evening, my favorite actor just posted a Facebook live with a former costar from my all-time favorite TV show. Thanks, guys. I needed that smile. Now I can face the rest of the evening with a smile.

I have realised that we only get to see the highlight reel of so many people, and even if they look perfect in their pics they might not feel so perfect by themselves.
