"The Sheer Action of the Fini Tribe: 1982-1987" is a huge 3 CD collection compiled by the band or a much more manageable LP compilation that seems to focus as much on their pop side as it does on their industrial side. I, for one, applaud this since I come down much, much more on the side of pop than industrial.
Fini Tribe were part of the glorious heyday of Scottish sound, and formed in Edinburgh, which lines up well with the fact that they remind me a bit of The Happy Family, Nick Currie's great band before he went onto all things Momus. There are also times that the songs remind me of Martin Phillips and The Chills (listen to "We're Interested").
It really isn't until "Detestimony" (song #5 on the LP) that the industrial side of the band really takes centerstage. This carries over onto the first song on the 2nd side, and then the pop side takes over again until the last live song.
This is available through Chris Connelly's Bandcamp. He was also in Ministry and Revolting Cocks. The LP is being released by Shipwrecked Industries, which appears to be a vehicle for Chris Connelly's work.

Her latest sharing has been no different except that this time a certain quintet equally offered visual pleasure just as compelling as their sonic captivation. Looking ahead, June 12th…

Fini Tribe - The Sheer Action of Fini Tribe: 1982-1987 (Vinyl)
photo by Bili Tennant The 1980’s saw many striking and inspiring artists emerging, and that was within the post punk scene alone. The Scottish music scene gave us a fair few of those and among them was undoubtedly FINI TRIBE. Whether music generally quite recognised though how innovative and ground-breaking they were can be debated. We too at The RR, even having embraced a bounty of thrilling…

It also welcomes another keenly anticipated visit from our sonic explorer Shauna, she of soundscape harvesters UMMAGMA and Shameless Promotion PR. Indeed, it was a rich harvest of striking releases that were bulging in her suggestive bag, so much so that we will be sharing our own exploration of her discoveries…
