When Rey used up her strength fighting Palpatine, I felt the difference in the Force. I ran to her, giving no explanation as I did, "Rey!" I called.

When I was close enough to see her, she was unconscious and Ben was holding her up. There was a large gap between them and me, far too large to jump.

I didn't know at that time that Ben had come back from the Darkness. I thought he was still Kylo Ren. I remember thinking he was going to kill her.

I yelled in protest, no way was I going to watch Rey die! "Rey!!" I yelled, and I reached in the direction.

Adrenaline was pumping through me and, at the time, I hadn't realized how I managed to get from where I was to where Rey was so quickly.

Looking back now, I know it was The Force. I had pulled myself to them out of sheer will to protect my best friend.

"Don't touch her!" I yelled at Ben. Ben looked up, no sign of hatred on his face. "I'm trying to help her." He said, pleading with me. I stood by. "If you hurt her, I'll destroy you." I said, "That's a promise." I waited, watching Ben carefully. Prepared to defend Rey at all costs if it came to it.

After a short time, Rey opened her eyes. There was no fear or hatred in her expression as she looked Ben in the eyes. Just love.

They kissed, Ben smiled, then he collapsed. Rey panicked, thinking Ben was dead. She was talking to herself.

"No, Ben. Please don't be dead." She begged as she checked for a pulse. Then her expression softened and she relaxed. "He's not dead." She sighed in relief, "He's not dead."

The Falcon landed and Rey explained to Poe that Ben was coming with us.

"Absolutely not!" Poe argued.

"He needs medical assistance!" Rey insisted.

"That's his problem. We're not helping him." Poe said.

"He saved me!" Rey said.

Poe looked at me as if he was silently asking me to confirm, I nodded.

"Fine." Poe conceded, "But I don't trust him!"

We brought Ben onto the Falcon and made our way to the base. Rey stayed with Ben the entire time, not speaking.

Ben was in a coma for a while. Poe suggested killing him while Ben was unconscious. "How can you trust him after what he's done?" He asked.

"He's changed." Rey said.

Poe looked at me as if silently begging. Talk to her, Finn.

"Do you trust him?" I asked Rey.

"Yes." She answered without hesitation, "With my life."

"Good enough for me." I agreed.

"What? Finn!" Poe gasped indignantly, "You can't be serious!"

"I trust Rey's judgement." I explained, "If Rey trusts him, that's enough for me."
