Wolfhard doesn’t yet know how Stranger Things will conclude. “[Creators] The Duffer Brothers haven’t told anyone yet, which is really funny,” he says. “I think David Harbour [who plays Jim Hopper] might know the ending of the show, but I have no idea. It was my whole life for a long time, and so definitely it’s melancholic that it’s ending but I think it’s also necessary. It’d be bad for the integrity of the show if we kept going beyond five years.”

Do you think your character Mike’s relationship with El (Millie Bobby Brown) will survive the move?

Oh, my God, I don’t know. In between seasons, all the cast kind of forms their own little conspiracies on what happens to their characters, but I don’t know. I think their bond at this point is so prominent that I don’t know if it can just end because she moves. There’s got to be some more development for sure.
