My own Cake and Finn's backpack. Both of them were a challenge for me.

How did you make Finn's backpack?

Through patterns my dear Anon!

Just take a backpack around your desired size for Finn's pack. You should take a long look at the bag. Notice how there are three main components; the front, the back, and the strip around it (lets call 'em Front, Back, and Side).

You want to recreate the size and measurements of the Front or the Back, and the side (the Front and Back are the same pattern). To get these measurements, find the circumference of the bags shape and draw yourself a picture. OR flatten your bag and lay your pattern paper on the area and trace the shape.

Now you have to find the measurements for the differing colors. There is more dark green than light green. The only exception is with the straps: there is more light then dark.

Draw the colors onto your patterns and cut. Re-Draw the pieces onto another sheet of paper, this time with seam allowance.

The Side is the circumference of the FRONT/BACK pattern. Each color is the circumference of their corresponding colors. Remember the light green SIDE gets extra seam allowance for the zipper.

The rest is simple sewing.

(Yes this is very vague. I have no idea how to properly explain my methods without sounding complicated. The work is in the patterns).
