FIONA COYNE Degrassi: The Next Generation - Chasing Pavements Pt. 2 (10x42)
Wake Me Up When September Ends.
Vanessa’s head was spinning. This couldn’t be happening. All her closest friends disappearing and now this Luke news? Everyone was hurting or being hurt and all she could do was sit and watch. She had promised Declan she’d help look, but she needed to make a stop–she needed a drink–maybe after she’d think clearer.
But as soon as she walked in she saw @artbyfiacoyne. Empty glasses all over her table, looking like she’d seen Hell firsthand. “I’ll have whatever she’s having,” Vanessa spoke, joining Fiona at the table.
“How long have you been here?”
You wanna talk about talk night? @artbyfiacoyne
“I know you said you don’t want to talk about it, but I owe you an explanation,” Luke began. “It happened a few days into you being at the hospital. Your family wasn’t letting me see you anymore, they had my name blacklisted with the nurses, so every time I tried to come and hold your hand or try to be there when you woke up all the would let me do was leave you the flowers.”
Luke took a long breath before looking back up to the girl, “Saying I was lonely and high isn’t an excuse, but it’s the truth. I missed you so much and it felt like I wasn’t going to be able to ever see you again if they had their way. I felt so guilty about you being in the hospital and knowing that if we didn’t have that stupid fight and if I hadn’t left you alone you would have been fine. I messed up, Fi. I don’t consider it cheating because I thought I had lost you, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that I hurt you and I would rather die than ever see your face that broken like at the Auction again.” @artbyfiacoyne
"Can we for once be grown ups and stop this back and forth crap? This same arguement we have every day is growing old. I don’t care that you hate that your brother and i hang out, but that’s it, hanging out. You’ll still be able to get your picture perfect marriage with him and Holly J.”

break your lovely little heart.
“Fuckin’ hell,” Luke mumbled to himself, holding the letter in his hand. It had been eating at him since the day he opened up Laura Coyne’s letter and he fully believed it. Every word in there hit him like knives but she was right. Luke enabled Fiona whether he was a direct or indirect reason. He protected her when she got too drunk and she knew that she’d ever have to brace the hangovers alone, knew that he’d hold her through the comedowns, knew that he was going to walk her through a bath, brush her hair, and tuck her into bed after a bad night. Luke just thought it was what good boyfriend’s did, but @artbyfiacoyne didn’t need just a good boyfriend; she needed a boyfriend who would help her with sobriety not cuddle her whenever she relapsed.
His eyes lit up when he saw Fiona’s perfect silhouette enter the door frame, and it was like all thoughts left and she was the only thing on his mind. The way her soft brunette hair fell on her shoulders, her skirts so short knowing they were to tease him but forced him to walk that much closer on her to make sure no guys were looking, remembering the way her smile used to brighten a pitch dark room and she’d whisper to him about their future and their white picket fence. He wanted that, he wanted her, but not til they both were better.
“I know this is going to be hard, but I need you to shut up and let me get this all out,” he started, queuing for her to sit in front of him. “I can’t keep this from you anymore, baby,” Luke breathed out. He pulled out the letter, unfolding it in his hands and beginning to read it out loud.
“Before you ask, I never cashed the check. I don’t even have it. I gave t to Imogen for safe keeping so in case they ever tried to say I cashed it or made it seem like I was only after the money your best friend would have the proof,” he explained. Luke moved closer handing the letter, “I was pissed about the Katie thing, yeah, but I got over it pretty quickly. This letter... Your mom is right. I enabled you and I couldn’t live with myself if something bad happened to you again, so I left. And I beat myself up everyday since the party because I thought that you thought another girl had to be involved for me to want to be with you and it was never like that. You know that or at least I hope you knew that. You’re the only girl that... that I could see giving my last name and that means something. I broke my virginity vow with you and that means something. Every memory with you means a lot more than I want to admit and I hate seeing you in the halls everyday and know there’s a million guys knocking on your door and your family is celebrating us being broken.”
