What does your url mean?

I had a mentor who once described my writing as “back shelf” – not bad, he insisted. Comforting. Private. Inclusive. Passionate. This isn’t the novel you find perched next to the cash register – it’s the book that’s beaten and worn. It’s stashed in the back. It has writing in the margins. Not back shelf as in bad, back shelf as in real.
