Episode 021: The One Where State Law Requires You to Help Someone Choking on a Flaming Donut
Stephen’s face-melt upon eating fire-sauce-seasoned fries brings up a question: how much of the bizarre faces Stephen makes are actually bizarre in-universe (since his physical form being malleable has been a plot point already) and how much is just part of the art style?
The Donuts corporate 90’s R&B song is so true it hurts. Seriously, Google “Wendy’s Training Video” sometime. You will find works of art that also teach you how to serve coffee.
I appreciate the slight subtlety that Sadie isn’t mad at Lars for skipping work but for flirting on the trampoline. I also like the fact that the show makes it obvious for anyone above age thirteen but not for kids.
I guess Lars setting the donut shop on fire with fire breath answers my previous question. It’s the art style.
OK, so the show makes it a little more obvious that Sadie has a crush later on.
People tell me that Lars gets better in later episodes. I sure hope so; he’s got a long way to go. I’ve seen too many Sadies get hurt in the same way to have a lot of sympathy for him.
