It has been three weeks since you last talked to Natasha. It was stupid really, the fight you had. She was working double shifts, and you were tired of trying to vie for her attention.
When you brought it up, Nat got defensive of her job and the whole thing ended up with the two of you saying you needed a break. But that could not be further from the truth.
Wanda knew you were down, so she and Monica had invited you out to the local bar. You are feeling pretty miserable already, but it feels worse when all the firefighters tumble into the bar.
“Y/n! Hey!” Carol says to you, crossing the room with Maria in tow. “How have you been?”
“Oh,” you mumble as you stand up to greet her. She slings an arm over your shoulder. “I’m okay.”
“Natasha told us what happened,” Maria says gently, placing a hand on your arm. “We are so sorry.”
“Oh, thank you. I'm sorry too.”
You smile politely and try to hold back any tears. Wanda comes back from the restroom and that allows for some distraction.
Carol and the rest of the firefighters sit across the bar. Steve leans back in the booth and pulls out his phone.
“We should tell her y/n is here, shouldn’t we?” He asks the group.
“Yes,” Bucky agrees.
“No,” Sam says at the same time. “Maybe? Thoughts ladies?”
“I say yes,” Carol says. “I thought about doing it as soon as we got here. I mean we all know Nat is in love with her.”
“And look at y/n,” Maria jumps in. “She looks so sad.”
“Okay, I am calling her.”
Steve gets up and goes outside to make the call. Natasha argues with him about coming, but he eventually convinces her that she is missing out on important team bonding.
You notice the second she walks into the bar. Even without the way her firehall cheered, you would’ve sensed Natasha was here. Her eyes immediately find you as well.
She crosses the floor with her hands in her pockets and an unreadable expression on her face.
“Hey y/n,” she says once she has arrived at your table.
“Hi Natasha,” you say back. “How- um- how are you?”
Nat shrugs her shoulders and leans back on her heels. You feel the same way. You take a sip of your drink, and she watches the way your hand seems to shake.
“Can we talk?” Nat asks. “Not here maybe.”
“Oh um, I am supposed to drive Wanda and Monica home soon, so I-”
“We can get a ride. Go ahead, y/n,” Wanda says.
You nod and leave Wanda some cash before standing up and following Nat outside. Nat is wearing jeans a plain black shirt. The way the sleeves fit to her muscles threatens to make your heart stop.
“Do you want to grab something to eat?” Nat asks, tossing her motorcycle keys in her hands.
“Sure. My favorite place?”
She grins. Your breath hitches at the sight. God, you missed her smile. She hands you a helmet and you get on the bike behind her. Your arms wrap around her center as you lean your head onto her back. Natasha feels her own breath become unsteady at you being this close.
Ten minutes later, Natasha parks the bike at her house. She gives you her hand to help you off and you don’t hesitate to lace your fingers with hers. You keep your hand in hers as you walk to the front door.
“One grilled cheese coming right up,” she says once inside.
“Thank you.”
You watch as Nat gets to making the food. She works quietly, but it doesn’t feel awkward to just sit here in the silence with her.
“For you, sweetheart,” Nat says as she places the sandwich in front of you. “Oh, I meant- sorry.”
“It’s okay,” you say. You have to admit you liked hearing her call you that again. “Here take half.”
Natasha stands across from you at the kitchen island and you two share the grilled cheese. There are plenty of stolen glances and you wonder what she is thinking about. She wonders what you are thinking about too.
She makes a sudden move to take the plates to the sink, and you notice the way she winces in pain.
“Did you get hurt?” You ask her.
“Yeah. Just a little bit,” Nat replies. You stand and walk closer to her.
“May I?” You ask, fingers tugging at the edge of her shirt.
She nods. Her eyes remain on your face as you lift the material up just enough to see the bruising on her toned ribcage. You frown and brush your hand over her skin lightly.
You look back up to her meet her eyes and realize just how close to her you are. You can feel her breath on your skin. She leans closer but stops short of kissing you.
“I need to say first that I am sorry,” she says. “I never should’ve asked for this break. I never should’ve picked this fight in the first place.”
“I’m sorry too,” you say. “I miss you.”
“I miss you too,” Nat says. “So much.”
You close the distance between the two of you and Natasha kisses you back quickly. It is messy as you rediscover how it feels to kiss each other. Her strong hands hold your face as you continue to push her shirt up over her chest.
“Do you want this?” Nat asks, breathless against your neck.
“I need this,” you reply. “I need you.”
She takes that as the green light to take you in her arms and lift you onto the countertop. Nat makes quick work of taking your shirt and pants off.
“Fuck, you’re so beautiful,” Natasha says as she kisses down your chest. She takes her time as she makes you feel so good again.
“More,” you tell her as her fingers slip into your underwear. “Please.”
“I’ve got you, baby,” Nat says.
She slips her fingers inside of you fully, kissing you as she picks up the pace. You let yourself get lost in the feeling.
“Are you going to come for me?” Natasha asks against your lips. You mumble a yes.
She asks again and you say exactly what she wanted to hear, “Yes, daddy.”
That is all it takes for Natasha to bring you over the edge completely. Your heart beats fast and you are breathless in her arms.
“Mhm, good girl,” Nat says. “So good for me.”
You kiss her softly and the fire in her eyes dims into something more like sweet affection.
“I love you,” she says once you break the kiss.
“I love you too,” you tell her. “Are we okay?”
“We are more than okay,” she agrees. “Let’s go to sleep?”
“Actually, I think it’s your turn to feel this good.”
“Oh yeah, babe?” She asks. A smirk plays on her lips.
You hop off the counter and circle Nat, pressing her back against the cold marble. She sighs contentedly as you pull off her bra and begin to lick at her nipples. Her muscles flex as you push her boxers down her legs.
“Kneel for me, baby,” Nat says.
You oblige, kneeling down and immediately getting to work with your tongue. Natasha makes the most beautiful sounds as she moves her hips against your face.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” Natasha moans. “I missed you so much.”
Natasha comes hard against your face, and you help her ride out her high the rest of the way. When you stand, she pulls you in for another soft kiss.
“Now it’s time for bed,” you say.
“Or maybe another round?” She asks, hands slipping around you hold you close.
“I’m glad we’re back.”
“Me too, babe. Me too,” Natasha says, leading you to her bedroom.
