IT HAD BEEN quite some time since he'd last seen his childhood friend. He'd INTENDED on catching up with him upon arriving in New York, but the issues with the Runoratas and Chane's whereabouts had distracted him, and it wasn't until now that he had a chance to follow through. Enthusiastically draping an arm around Firo's shoulder, Claire smiled widely. 

                          " It's been a while, Firo! Whatcha been up to? "

THE PRESENCE OF this newcomer surprised her. His attire and the way he carried himself made it clear he wasn’t a DELINQUENT like the rest of the gang, but he was no business man either. He was DANGEROUS, part of the criminal underworld in some way. Despite his friendly words and lack so far of any indication to cause any harm, because of this, Nice remained on guard. 

                          " ...You said ya' were a friend of Claire's? "

NICE SPENT A good majority of her childhood outside. When she wasn’t spending time with Jacuzzi and the others, she was usually experimenting with various explosives. She always did such things outside, by where the laundry was hung to dry. As a result, Nice associates the smell of fresh laundry with the time when she still lived with her parents, specifically times where she was first discovering her love for explosives.
