Todays #MonteCarloMonday feature is #OPGICustomer Shane Schieve's 1970 SS454 Monte Carlo. Check out these awesome photos and an awesome story to go along with it. Thanks Shane. ⠀ "When my uncle pulled up in this car in 1976 I was 4 years old and thought it was the coolest car I've ever seen and knew it would be mine. He traded it in for a truck in 78. My dad went to the dealer and made an offer of 1500.00 for it but they wanted 2500.00 and my dad refused. They told him it was rare and was worth it but my dad said “it was my brother’s car and I am a mechanic and know what's wrong with the car” and told them he wouldn't give them a dime more. He gave them his phone number and we left. Being a 6 year old in love with this car I cried on the way home asking why he didn't buy it? He said it was too much and they will call him back. A week later they in fact did call and told him to come get his car. I remember riding home standing on the seat with my arm hanging out the window like my dad always did. I was smiling ear to ear as we drove home. Fast forward 11 years, I started driving it in 89 and my parents gave it to me for graduation in 90. It had been sitting for over 20 years but with my wife's support and blessing and my mechanic Jason Smiley letting me have a hand in anything I wanted to do which saved tons in labor, I just finished restoring it in May 2016 and it's my daily driver now."⠀ ⠀ #MonteCarlo #1970MonteCarlo #70MonteCarlo #FirstGenMonteCarlo #OPGI #OPG #OriginalPartsGroup
