ZELDAS AWAKENiNG (AKA Links Death)
one of the most memorable scenes in BOTW: zeldas power is finally awakened in a last ditch effort to die for link
listening to the score is wild (especially since im a SUCKER for character theme reprises). lets analyze each mejor section of this song.
the theme opens with a dangeous yet tragic feel to it; zelda urges link to run from the guardians: to leave her to die and to save himself. it crescendoes as link struggles to stand up, despite his injuries, to give his life fighting the last guardian. the chords strike violentley as zelda pushes her way in front of him, and her sealing power is finally activated, killing all of the guardians in kakariko. it then goes silent... as link falls to the ground behind her. as he dies, a chorus sings zeldas lullaby, slowly and hauntingly, signifying link falling asleep and zelda mourning. it goes silent, and links theme plays as his spirit finally leaves.
SUDDENLY, in a hopeful chord, fi's theme cuts through links theme, and the mourning, as the spirit in the sword reminds zelda that link can be brought back. the theme is suddenly urgent and royal, as zelda, in a split-moment decision, commands 2 shiekah footsoldiers to rush link's body to the shrine of reserruction, to heal for 100 years. all thats left is for her to return his sword to the deku tree and fight to seal ganon by herself as she waits for link to wake up and regain his strength, sword, and memories
