This is a method of completely erasing ALL data and tracking information from your Fitbit devices.
Some models can be "factory" reset by holding a special combination of buttons. But most models now only allow a "soft" reset which doesn't remove certain data, things like text messages or GPS data.
After searching YouTube for a possible solution and finding the same reset options, I thought I would try a different approach!
After removing my device from MY fitbit account, things still remained on the watch/tracker, this made me a little concerned about possible hacking or reverse engineering to get my personal info out.
So the best way to make sure that your own data isn't on the device? Put someone else's data on the device!
Genius! Now even if the device is given away or sold to someone it doesn't matter what is on the device as it is just a generic account that be used then logged out from and forgotten about.
Please feel free to use the account to overwrite your data on any of the Fitbit trackers, it should work with them all!
