I feel like you would really appreciate this but I??? Made my friend an umbra star for her bday. It's blue and silver and has swirls and stars and the inside is decorated with iconic taako and Lup quotes. And I like to imagine that after everything is done AND THERE'S A HAPPY ENDING? Taako makes her a non magic umbrella decorated with "iconic shit I said when you were an umbrella". Also I filled the umbrella with glitter as a nice surprise for when she opened it

because of katya’s own upbringing, she has a very skewed and negative perception of family ties of any kind ------ the word ‘daughter’ was always spat from her father’s mouth with a sort of ..... obvious disdain: at no point did they ever have a good relationship, or even a semblance of one. from the very start of her life she struggled with closeness of any kind, would often refer to herself as an orphan long before her father actually died, would disappear for days at a time, and was never asked upon her return where she’d been or why she had left. basically, she really has no understanding of how familial relationships are supposed to work when unpolluted, least of all that between a father and a daughter. this is later expanded upon / reaffirmed by her relationship with leonid salmonov, who at first occupied a sort of mentorish / fatherly position in her regard, until he began to . . . act differently toward her. this is also one of the reasons she has difficulty separating platonic attachments from sexual affirmation, and struggles to keep partners / relationships that do not rely upon that aspect.
