My favourite local band is breaking up this year. I didn't see them at all last year because of the broken leg and then anxiety (but I did see Jodie Flange at an open mic).
I bought tickets so now I have a little over 6 months to be okay enough to leave the house so I can go to their final show.
The last time my anxiety/agoraphobia was as bad as this I started to deal with it by going to their shows alone. Going alone meant I could leave whenever I want and didn't feel bad about having panic attacks, I got the exposure to crowds, and I found that loud music and moshing helped redirect and distract the feelings that come with anxiety. Plus I found the people at their shows are really supportive and look out for people. This show is a huge motivation to get my head back in order.
