Design genius: The flat-pack rowing boat
It's annoying to say the least when you've been on Secret Escapes, booked a weekend break to a gorgeous country house by a river and you want to pack the rowing boat. But it won't fit in the car, or in the suitcase, or through the front door...
Now, nothing's going to come between you and your rowing escapades after RCA graduates Max Frommeld and Arno Mathies created the 'Foldboat'. It's a completely flat-packed boat that's super light and can be folded into a 150cm x 60cm parcel - neat enough to carry under your arm. The boat is made from a single sheet of plastic - so it's completely seamless, yet when assembled, it's large and strong enough to carry two adults.
The boat was showcased at the London Design Festival last month, and already there's excitable chatter across the world wide web from eager boating-enthusiasts desperate to get their hands on one.
Someone get IKEA on the phone...
