A fledgling robin August 10th 2025
Since COVID has me under seige and I have gone nowhere in months, I have scrolling through old photos to remind myself what can happen in the world. These are from 2008. I’ll have to try to figure out how to entice new robins to our yard.
Photoshoot with my new BFF Jeromie...

Are you sure it’s injured? A robin that young usually can’t fly yet anyway. It might have just gotten out of the nest a little early. Try not to touch it, but if there is a bush or something you can herd it towards for shelter that will help it. It’s parents are probably still around and will continue to feed it.
This is basically the expert advice the woman from the sanctuary gave me. She had me give it a tiny nudge from behind to see if its wings were okay, and it flap-hopped along the ground, but that one leg dragged behind it motionless, so merely steering it towards shelter seemed insufficient.
Its parents were around. I kind of wish I had left it there longer, for fear that it will starve in the box indoors overnight.
