This was a tangent that I didn't show at Eyeo. In this version, every time an ant makes a connection (runs into another ant), they end up being connected by springs. After an arbitrary number of connections, I think 8 in this example, the ant gains the ability to fly-swim towards the ceiling. Why? No idea. But I liked the end result.
