Calgary Arts Development: Calgary Arts Flood Rebuild fund launched
In the week since the flood there has been an outpouring of support and offers to donate to the arts in Alberta. Calgary Arts Development has launched the Calgary Arts Flood Rebuild project on InvestYYC.com with an aim of directing these offers to the arts community.
The Calgary Arts Flood Rebuild funds will support artists and arts organizations from across southern Alberta as they recover from the devastating impacts of the flood. The funds will be administered by Calgary Arts Development, in conjunction with other community and government partners from across Alberta whose focus is on direct support of the arts.

Visual Arts Alberta – CARFAC needs to know how the flood has impacted your art practice. We have watched with horror on facebook and the internet, some of the stories of the flooding in Southern Alberta. Visual Arts Alberta – CARFAC needs to know how you were affected as visual artists. Has your artwork in storage been damaged or wrecked? Is your studio a disaster area? Will your future income be impacted? Do you know of artists or art organizations or galleries that have been affected? Send us a simple email with any knowledge that you want to share. Visual Arts Alberta – CARFAC will be working with Calgary Arts Development, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Alberta Partners for Arts + Culture (APAC) and CARFAC National to gather together information regarding the impact of the flood on individual artists and arts organizations.
