vast flood meadows, rich wildlife and huge amounts of wild garlic in spring - the mönchbruch nature reserve definitely is worth a visit. why i have only been there once, i cannot even fathom myself. but the second time around reminded me again, that this is a remarkable place, especially in such close vicinity to frankfurt. one of the last real wild places in one of the most populated areas. in only half an hour i have seen muskrats, storks, wild geese and even a hare and the amount of garlic there surpasses everything i have ever seen in my life. i collected some small amount and made myself some fresh herb butter. i think i need to return soon and get some more before the season is over, i think i really want to try out some filled wild garlic leaves at some point, maybe with some minced meat or like a spring roll. even thinking about that makes me drool 🤤 #mönchbruch #walldorfmörfelden #floodmeadows #naturereserves #greaterfrankfurt #nature #wildgarlic (hier: Mönchbruch, Mörfelden-Walldorf) https://www.instagram.com/p/CN8JhCRnECN/?igshid=19juamr30267t
