The Floral Library depicted here was established in 1969, and arose from First Lady Claudia ‘Lady Bird’ Johnson's 1965 Capital Beautification Project, which also included trash cleanup, and building renovation in the neighborhoods of Washington, DC. By the spring of 1966, 750,000 tulips and daffodils, 50,000 mums, 220,000 annuals, 3,000 roses, 12,000 azaleas, 2,400 cherry trees, 1,000 magnolias and 1,000 dogwoods had been planted across Washington, DC. The 93 flower beds here are planted with annuals in the summer, and chrysanthemums in the fall, but some of the most impressive flowers here are the thousands of tulips imported from Holland and planted in early April every spring. #FloralLibrary #FloralLibraryDC #TulipLibraryDC #TulipLibrary #LadyBirdJohnson #pedicab #pedicabtour #pedicabtours #pedicabride #washingtonDCpedicab #dcpedicab #wheelthepeople #dcrickshawtour #nationalmalltour #dctours #dctour #DCtrip #WashingtonDCtrip #WashingtonDCtour #WashingtonDCtours #WashingtonDCtravel #WashingtonDCvacation #NationalMallTravel #WashingtonDCbusinessTrip #rickshaw #rickshawtour #rickshawtours #pedicab #pedicabtour #pedicablife (at Floral Library) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgeWmFHLIu9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
