In addition to my beautiful time spent in Pisa and Lucca this past Saturday with my school, I was fortunate enough to venture to Cinque Terre yesterday for the day. Unlike Pisa and Lucca, this trip was booked on our own through a travel agency called Florence for Fun. Florence for Fun is a company specifically for students studying abroad in Florence. They offer all-inclusive trips for low costs, taking students via bus for various trips throughout Italy and Europe. FFF offers day trips, weekend trips, and even longer trips for schools that offer fall breaks, as well as even extra discounts off trips.
Cinque Terre was near the top of my list of places to go, and it somehow still exceeded my expectations. For as long as I remember, I have been dreaming of the Mediterranean and a seaside adventure. Our trip included fresh and delicious food, clear blue water that we drifted in, and a strenuous hike from on of the five towns to the next. The views were beyond breathtaking, leaving me actually speechless. Naturally, I fell behind the group on our hike (as I happen to often do) and spent my time taking in every bit of scenery as I could while photographing to preserve the memory.
A day in Cinque Terre happened to be a perfect amount of time. We saw and did everything I had dreamed of without having to commit to too much of a weekend. It was hard to leave the beautiful seaside town, but fortunately, back to reality for us is just back to Florence and fashion school, which happens to be pretty luxurious too.
This Monday afternoon, I am left still dreaming of Cinque Terre and questioning if it was real. Although the day spent was everything I wished for and more, I am itching to go to Greece or the Amalfi Coast now and completely conquer the Mediterranean.
Probably the coolest thing I have ever done! #flying #florenceforfun #switzerland (at Twin Paragliding)
