Wolfsbane Part 2 (Part 1 is in the ask meme)
Another thing with calling the Bill/Fleur ship “Wolfsbane.” And why it makes sense.
Bill’s full name, William comes from the original German form Wilhelm. And the helm in Wilhelm means protection (as in helmet), and is an Old Germanic word for “helmet” in its own right.
Helmet...as in helmet-flower!
Helmet-flower is another name for wolfsbane!
And it can also symbolize Fleur’s protectiveness over Bill and their relationship especially when he was injured. Plus we all know Jo and her fondness for putting flower references all throughout the books. This could very well have been intentional on her part.
OMG...JK has done it again!
Another flower structure tutorial from my botanical painting workshop today: drawing open ‘flat’ flowers. Hope you find these tutorials useful!
What if I ship Julie x Sunny and name it "Bird of Paradise"?
(stole some colourful plants)
Flower References
So as you may or may not know I am a huge flower nerd, and its nearly flower growing season in my neck of the woods. I’ve started a side blog to showcase my lovelies and will have all photos as open references to artists with no attribution needed (but if you want to share I would be thrilled!) I will only be updating it once or twice a week, especially until growing season officially starts as I currently only have photos from last year or later.
