Last night I got ʰᶦᵍʰ af, listened to some fairy music, busted out my box of markers and came up with this divining board. I’ve been pressing flowers (with the plant’s permission) that I find on walks and I found the perfect three to use. Its a simple system but it’s been working. You let the flowers flutter onto the board and each ring has it’s correspondence. Each flower does as well. I’ve been doing readings for my friends so I will let you know how that goes!

1, 21, 40 & 47!

What book did you last finish? When was that?

I just finished Audre and Bash Are Just Friends by Tia Williams about half an hour ago. It's a fun YA rom com that also functions as a companion novel to Williams's adult romance novel Seven Days in June, which I thought was a fun concept!

21. Best winter read?

Ooh, interesting question as I don't really read holiday rom coms and that would be my first suggestion…Looking back over my lists of monthly reads, I think I tend to read a lot of spooky books like The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson of Red X by David Demchuk because something feels correct about reading spooky books when it gets dark out.

40. Name one of your favorite books from your teenage years

Far From You by Tess Sharpe, an excellent and heart-wrenching mysterious about a girl investigating the death of her best friend/secret girlfriend. I remember reading it before a school dance and frantically trying to finish it before it was time to go to the dance because I just had to know what was going to happen next.

47. What do you do to get out of a reading slump?

Read a contemporary YA book or a middle grade fantasy novel for a palate cleanser, usually.
