The Last Light In The Angst
Even though the Demon Jims' main goal is to bring darkness and angst to the world, there are some, who still have a little light in their cold black hearts. Those, are the hardest to find, always hidden away, fearful of their own powers. Yet, when ever a friend or enemy is hurt too much, they always come to their side.
A Jim alerts the lead Demon Jim of a fallen enemy, expecting her to laugh and grin at the pain. Instead, she goes quiet, looking out the window of her office, hands clasped behind her back, as if she was talking to someone who wasn't there. She bit her lip as she turned, asking the Jim to take her to the enemy.
The Jim's eyes widen in shock, but they obey, knowing full well what will happen when they don't. When they arrive at the fallen soldier, the Lead Demon Jim sits down, pulling the person close, letting them cry onto her shoulder. She whispers sweet nothings, rubbing their back. The Jim who brought her here sat in shock, watching, worried that she might turn on the soldier.
The Demon summoned a box, opening it up and getting out cookies, a plushie, and a blanket, giving them to the soldier, a small warm smile on her face. The Demon writes her angst for fun, not to hurt anyone too bad, just enough. But knows when it's gone too far, that's when she stops.
"Just know," she says, "angst and fluff have their strengths, but for the darkness, we have to have limits. Sadly, we have the power to drive people off the deep end. We need you Fluff Jims to write what you write to keep the balance," she moves a strand of hair off the soldier's face, "don't let us break you down, be strong, I know you can, promise me you'll be strong."
"I will... thank you..." the soldier hugs the demon, handing her a cookie as well as giving one to the other Jim, "I'll write the best fluff ever!" They got out their notebook and pencil, immediately starting to write.
The demon smiled and teleported home, back to the underworld. She's helped many Jims on the side of Fluff, the light in the world. Even with her background, she still has a little light left. Even when her mother beat it out of her.
