Custom Fashion Clients like Elizabeth C. meet up with me here in the Finger Lakes several times for fittings before their creation is perfected. My best friend and @hectorhandmade business partner @jennie_scarbrough offers beautiful, comfortable, stylish spaces for such fittings in her @airbnb(s (when they’re not booked with visitors.) Having a clean slate free of other fashion input or the distraction of an operating showroom creates a really aligned environment where both my Client (and her guests) and I can focus on their one of a kind garment. Showing Elizabeth the vintage garments I selected to include in her Custom Maternity Wedding Dress was such a fun and dynamic experience! It’s all about the details and how everything FEELS together. At this fitting in Jennie’s gorgeous Hector Lookout Loft we made final decisions on vintage components and lace placement, really important things to do in person and with good lighting! This particular vacation rental is so crisp and modern while still being really inviting and cozy. I loved meeting some of Elizabeth’s Bridal Party there and always recommend having friends a Client trusts join us to offer input when the Bride is open to it. We all have valuable angles to see this one special human in this one special dress. Isn’t this tulle the prettiest blue?! I had the pleasure of creating three custom Flower Girl Dresses this year for Abby S’s wedding! It was my first time make little girls dresses; I’ve made lots of women’s dresses and and some baby dresses, but not any little girls dresses till this spring! Abby sourced the fabric from the company where the Bridesmaid Dresses came from so the color was an exact match. Really a very pretty deep teal/slate blue. I sourced some eyelet lace from @moodfabrics and did some color testing and decided to bleach it to get more of a true white.
