with both lipstick’s promotions and her own solo comeback coming up, hyeju’s found herself spending a lot of time in bc’s practice rooms. usually, she’s not too hellbent on spending hours and hours practicing, but this new solo was proving to be different from what she’s done in the past, and she needs to continue to look at herself in the mirror to convince herself that it isn’t too terrible. admittedly, she can’t actually say if it’s been effective or not because she still thinks she looks silly with the whole choreography and concept.

nevertheless, she’s expecting herself to spend maybe three hours or so in a practice room all alone and is surprised to walk into one that’s already occupied. she did a double take on the room number and was pretty sure that she’s signed up to use this room at this time. “hey,” she says to the rather unfamiliar face. most likely a trainee since she looks so young. “you sure you’re supposed to be in here?” it probably sounds weird seeing that she’s the one that’s walked in, but she doesn’t think she’s mistaken about her sign up. “did bc fuck up again and double book the practice room?” it wouldn’t surprise her if that was the case as it wasn’t the first time it’s happened.

with his own solo comeback around the corner, it meant a lot of late nights practicing. though, to be quite honest, it almost wasn’t needed. to duri, ballads were always the easiest to prefer for and perform. all he had to do was sing, and that was clearly his highest skill set. singing comes easily and naturally to him in every which way, and he can easily gage the emotion that he needs for a song. he could even gage the on-stage presence that he needed for a ballad. other songs, like ones with choreography, always took a bit more practice, which was understandable for him. yet, he still found himself performing the ballad for practice in a practice room, making sure he was completely ready for the two weeks of performances. 

however, he had decided to finally call it a night when he realized how late it was. he made sure to clean up the practice room, put everything back exactly how it was. he made sure everything was clean, just exactly how it was when he had entered the room. this was something that he had always did, especially since he was a trainee. once being sure everything was good to go, he grabbed his bag, turned off the light, and exited the room. turning to leave the area of the practice rooms. 

as he was going to leave the area, he comes across a familiar face. “ah, hello!” he said beaming a bit as he greeted the other. “what are you doing here so late? does bc have you practicing a lot?” he asked the younger. he could relate, due to how much he was practicing himself.

    duri had always looked forward to a performance. it really was something that he knew like the back of his hand, because he had been doing it for so long. sure, he was a little bit nervous because the whole point of this performance was to perform in a bunch of executives from bc, dimensions, gold star, and the hollywood music industry. who wouldn’t be at least a little nervous over something like that? he was sure that it was just something that would last a rather short time, simply because he was used to performing, no matter who it was. he liked to think that album meetings were a lot scarier than this, if he was completely honest.

duri had just gotten out of hair, makeup, and wardrobe. he was dressed rather simply in a way, and his clothes were flowy in a way. this was how he always liked to be dressed for stages, if he was honest. but, the outfit worked really well for the ballads that he’d be performing that evening, as well as being comfortable to dance in for candy. after getting out of hair, makeup, and wardrobe, he felt a lot better, and not nervous. 

he was walking around the backstage area that they were provided, simply just looking around. however, he came upon one of the members of bc’s newest girl group, looking a tad bit... well, nervous in some way. he approached her, “hi!” he said, greeting the other. “are you okay? you look a little nervous...”

jihoon didn’t think his heart would be capable of skipping a beat, however, when he saw that ball from yuzu hit hazel straight in the head, he had to grimace. it didn’t look painful to say the least, but when you liked someone, it wasn’t hard to get the strings attacked to his heart pulled every now and again. sure, the little crush he had on hazel hadn’t been that long but it was a crush never the less. 

he does take a step forward to her, but stops himself in his tracks, since the game hadn’t ended just yet and he didn’t want to get taken out just yet, mainly because yuju wouldn’t let him live it down. however, as soon as he was done, the game announced finished he found himself next to gaeul, handing her a bottle of cold water. 

“your head any good?“ jihoon asks, leaning down ever so slightly to he height. it had been a while since he hadn’t outright avoided her, but he doesn’t think it mattered when there were so many people around.

at that point, akira was pretty certain that she had been to all of her members’, at least the ones who had released solo music, music video sets during the time of their filming. not only was it encouraged by bc entertainment for them to be there for each other, akira didn’t particularly mind visiting them and giving them a stronger support system. they were group members after all. a family, so to speak. in order for things to run smoothly and for them to be the best they could be, they had to work together and have a strong bond amongst them. it was a little shocking for akira that she had taken to having group members so easily, especially because she had never wanted to debut in a group in the first place, but she knew that being in a group was inevitable at the end of the day, so she had to grin and bear it.

that didn’t mean she liked her members any less though. she might have butted heads with a few of them from time to time, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t be there for them. as the sound of gaeul’s single blasted throughout the set of the music video, akira stood off to the side, watching the monitor intently as the younger woman danced and mouthed along to the words of her song. the song was good - catchy and fun, but had a bit of a more mature element. she couldn’t help but compare the song with her own solo song. it was something she had done with pretty much every other girl that had released a solo song so far. she found herself breaking out of her intent gaze when the music stopped, and she quickly put a smile on her face as gaeul walked from in front of the cameras. “hey! sorry i’m a little late - we had some crystal schedules this morning. and i wasn’t really feeling that well afterwards, but i still wanted to come see you. i love the song, by the way. i smell a hit.”
