Welcome to the Final Mission Rarepair Exchange!
Hello, agents! We recently completed our final televised mission, but that doesn’t mean the magic of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or its rarepairs has to be over. The Final Mission Rarepair Exchange is exactly what it says on the tin - an exchange for rarepair content!
Here’s the schedule for the FMRE:
August 19th - Signups Open
August 26th - Signups Close
August 30th - Prompts Sent Out
September 30th - Mid-Exchange Check-In
October 30th - Posting Day
And a few more things you should know before signing up:
The FMRE is a fic-based exchange! You must write a fic at least 1000 words long to participate in the exchange. If you want to include extras, like a moodboard, manip, or gifset, you’re welcome to, but the focus is fic.
For the purposes of this exchange, a rarepair is defined as a ship with fewer than 300 works with the otp: true filter on AO3. Ships excluded from this exchange: Fitzsimmons, Skoulson, Philinda, Skimmons, Quakerider, and Dousy. Ships featuring Grant Ward and AIDA are also excluded due to the difficulty of finding participants willing to write for those characters.
All characters requested must have appeared on Agents of SHIELD. We appreciate crossover ships but not everyone in the fandom has seen or desires to see any other Marvel property, and this exchange aims to be as inclusive as possible.
Please be as thorough as possible when filling out your survey. The nature of this exchange means it’s easier to specify which ships you won’t write rather than which ones you will. Some examples of what you can include are ‘I won’t write [character]’, ‘I won’t write [character A] with anyone other than [character B] (poly ships with both of them are okay)’, ‘I won’t write M/M ships’. If at any point during the sign up period before prompts have been sent out you realize you forgot to specify a certain character, ship, etc. is a no-go, feel free to contact me (Al/@bobbimorseisbisexual).
The code word is ‘toucan’. I’m including a code word because the last time the exchange was run, people did not heed the above warnings and were not pleased with me because they could not read. :)
When filling out ‘preferred ships’, use the full names of all characters. I know most ship names in the fandom but I would prefer there’s no ambiguity with what you’d like.
If at any point you have to back out of the exchange, please let me know as soon as possible to ensure there is time for a pinch hitter to complete a fic for your partner.
