Forever fans! Hear me out!
Long time ago, when I was into Pushing Daisies and couple of other shows, I was thinking about making a team-up of non-superhero TV show characters. I thought about including Ned the Piemaker (from Pushing Daisies, of course) and Melinda Gordon (from Ghost Whisperer).
For those of you who don’t know - Pushing Daisies is about this guy, Ned, who can bring dead back to life with one touch, but he has to touch them again within a minute or else, someone else will die in their place. Ned is working with a private eye, Emerson Cod to solve mysteries of murders, by simply asking the corpse what happened (the thing is , the dead sometimes don’t remember all that well, who killed them). He also managed to resurrect his lost love but now he can’t kiss her or even touch her, because if he touches her agian, she may die.
And the Ghost Whisperer is about a woman who sees ghosts and helps them cross to The Other Side by resolving their unfinished businesses. As the show progressed, there were added storylines on how ghost worked in this universe and about higher powers trying to take over the world.
Anyway, today I actually thought about whenever to add Henry Morgan to this ensamble. All three of them are having powers related to death and they deal with the dead on daily basis. I just think that them teaming-up and working together to solve some kind of mystery would be awesome.
However, I’m more inclined to make a Ghost Whisperer/Forever crossover, than Forever/Pushing Daisy/Ghost Whisperer crossover. I’m hesitant to add Pushing Daisies, because this show has a specific aesthetic that makes it set in a world similar to The Series of Unfortunate Events (as in - the period is kind of hard to pin down). While with Ghost Whisperer it’s clear, it’s our world and 21th century.
Now what I find interesting is that Melinda has an antique shop... just like Abe. She mostly operates in her hometown, Grandview, but I think that she could go visit New York, or Henry could go on vacation with Abe, and, maybe, Jo, and decide to see Grandview.
This is probably one of those things I will never write, but I can always dream of this crossover.
(Great, now I want to re-watch both Pushing Daisies and Ghost Whisperer.)
