IT WAS ALMOST AMUSING the ways Nick had been looking forward to the end of his shift. Nick, the one person many teased of being a workaholic that would rather spend night & day at the station, couldn’t wait to get out of there. Well, not that he could be blamed when he had been bribed with the prospect of a movie night by the very same person who had a hold of his heart, because if there was someone that could get Nick to do anything they wanted, well, that was Caroline. If only he could seem to mind just how bad he got it for her.
However, while he had figured out that she would already been at his place, what he hadn’t expect was the sight that greeted him the moment he opened the door of his place and stepped inside. Gaze never wavering while he watched Caroline plopping on the couch. ❝ I knew I would have found you here already. ❞
And there he was, forgoing his usual routine, as if there was something more important to do ( of course there was ), feet bringing him towards her as if pulled by an invisible string, a hand resting on the back of the couch as he leaned down to press a kiss against the top of her head. ❝ Well, now I can say I solved the mystery behind the disappearance of some of my shirts. ❞ There was a teasing nature behind his words, the slightest hint of a smirk far too obviously gracing his features.
